09:46 pm - Torchwood season 3 Day One
So, it seems, that despite my shiny new obsession with Star Trek, I’m still fannish enough about Torchwood to get up an hour earlier each morning this week to watch it before going to work. But I guess not fannish enough to enjoy it as much as I enjoyed season 2. Because that episode was rather meh for me.

05:10 pm - Star Trek TOS season 1 – part 2
I spent the last week in England with [info]czeri. And I saw Jude Law on stage. As Hamlet. He was very good and so beautiful. He really is an achingly perfect specimen of male beauty as some magazine (Vanity Fair?) called him once.

Now I’m back in Poland and watching Star Trek TOS again. And if you maybe ever wondered why Star Trek was the first big slash fandom and you didn’t want to watch 3 seasons to find out? Here’s your answer:

Link to the incredibly slashy youtube clip.

Just see it (it’s short, only 41 seconds) because words are not enough to describe properly the explosive slashines of this scene.

And now short reviews of episodes 11 -20.

10:03 pm - Verbotene Liebe 04.06.2009
There weren’t any Christian/Olli romantic scenes for such a long time that I almost forgot how hot and sweet and beautiful they could be. And in yesterday’s episode we got a hot kiss in public and then long, hot, half-naked making out in the bedroom. With chocolate covered strawberries. Really. See for yourself here.

And if you need more encouragement than only words to watch it I made caps.

01:30 pm - Star Trek TOS season 1
I’m watching The Original Series. After the cut there are short (very, very short, like one or two sentences short) reviews of episodes 1 – 10 of the 1st season. Spoilers obviously.

And to end this post on the more optimistic note here’s a mini picspam of Uhura, because Nichelle Nichols is absolutely wonderful.

08:14 pm - That was incredible
For the first time in my life I saw in Poland on the street (quite big and busy) in the middle of the day (11 a.m.) two guys holding hands. They were both twenty something and pretty and smiling and obviously in love. My first thought was “oh wow…” and then “awww, that’s so sweet”. As far as I can tell (I was in a hurry for my 3rd viewing of Star Trek) other people on the street weren’t paying much attention to them. Maybe something is changing for the better in this country.

Saw the movie twice already, on Sunday and yesterday. Probably will see it tomorrow again. Why? Because I’m completely obsessed with one pairing. And it’s not Kirk/Spock. Spoilers behind the cut )

08:40 pm - Stargate Universe
Hey, this new Stargate show sounds interesting. And I wasn’t interested at all. I tried watching SG-1 and Atlantis in the past, but they just weren’t for me. But now I’ve watched the first official trailer for Stargate Universe on Afterelton and found out that David Blue is in it. And Robert Carlyle, whom I love so much. And that there will be two gay characters on the show. Hopefully at least one of them will be from the main cast and hopefully it will be David or Robert. :)

01:12 pm - I'm feeling blue
I was feeling kinda blue the whole week. Nothing serious really – one not very pleasant situation at work, but mostly because it’s the end of March and it’s still winter here in Poland. And I want spring and sun and green leaves on the trees. Right now. *sighs*

So, to cheer myself up here are 10 things I love in Homicide Life on the Street, in no particular order:

Tim Bayliss’ glasses

Kay Howard’s hair

Frank Pembleton’s elegant suits

Meldrick Lewis’ hat

Meldrick calling Julianna “Julie C”

Mike Kellerman saying the words “dirty” and “whatever”

Frank Pembleton saying “Hey, hey, hey”

Gee speaking Italian

The Waterfront

“Boom, boom, boom” by The Iguanas

And now I’m going to watch the 4th ep of Law & Order UK, because Ben Daniels being amazing and hot makes everything a bit better, too.

08:06 pm - Dollhouse 1x02 “Target”
That was good. Now I’m interested instead of meh. And network execs are morons. Because that would be a perfect pilot IMO. I cared for Echo, I was intrigued by Alpha, I thought Boyd was cool and Dominic was a jerk (I still squeed when he was on screen, because Reed, eeeeeee!) – all those things the 1st ep didn’t give me. Also Boyd and Echo’s relationship starts to really fascinate me, although it’s a bit like Giles & Buffy at the moment. Well, I still find agent Ballard extremely boring, for me he’s the weakest part. But the rest is ok and from now on Dollhouse is on my list of TV shows I’m watching this season.

10:41 am - Dollhouse
Watched the 1st ep yesterday. And you know what was the most exciting thing about it to me? That one of the parts (Laurence Dominic) is played by Reed Diamond aka Mike Kellerman from Homicide Life on the Street. I didn’t know he would be in it, so it was a complete surprise to see his name in the opening credits. I squeed so loudly. Mikey! Eeeeeeeee!!!!

Apart from that, well the beginnings never were Joss Whedon’s strongest suit. Eliza looks beautiful, but her acting is... I don’t know. Sometimes I saw Faith and sometimes I saw nothing at all. Should I care for Echo? Because for now I don’t. The idea is interesting enough, but if not for Reed Diamond I would be completely meh about that 1st ep. I have problems with some things, although not the same things most people (according to LJ reviews I’ve read in the last few days) seem to have problem with. But I believe in Joss, so I’m willing to wait a bit for a magic to start.

07:42 pm - Homicide Life on the Street
Ok, finished yesterday. If you're maybe wondering how I managed to watch 2 seasons (22 episodes each) and a movie in a week, the answer is: by fast forwarding. A lot. In season 6 I fast forwarded through all Falsone scene (unless it was with Pembleton and Bayliss), because he is so very boring. In season 7 I fast forwarded through every scene without Bayliss. I like Munch and Lewis, but the writing was so bad that I wasn’t interested in their subplots at all.

I’m head over heels in love with Kyle Secor. Or maybe I should say with Tim Bayliss. I saw Kyle as Jake Kane in Veronica Mars and I thought he was ok but nothing special. But Tim, beautiful, sensitive, vulnerable, damaged Tim with that soft voice and soulful eyes.... I can’t get enough of him. Yesterday after finishing the movie I started to re-watch HLOTS from the beginning, just to see him again falling in love and getting broken.

I’m fascinated by Pembleton, too, he’s a very complex, brilliant character and Andre Braugher is a fantastic actor, but I can’t get so emotionally invested in him, because he’s too similar to me. Some of his characteristics, the way he behaves in certain situation – that’s me to a T. And I can only fall madly in love with characters that are nothing like me. Like Bayliss.

Also, on the most shallow level, Tim is beautiful. My favorite look is the one from season 6 with longer hair, like in season 1 only with better haircut, and glasses. I love Tim in glasses.

The rest cut-tagged for slight spoilers for season 6 )

So, if you love The Wire or OZ or both and you haven’t seen Homicide Life on the Street, do yourself a favor and buy or rent it. I guarantee you’ll love it. At least the seasons 1 to 5, there's no guarantee for the last two. :)

11:17 am - New love
I’m completely obsessed with Homicide Life on the Street. I’m so obsessed that this week I forgot to download Gossip Girl and House on Tuesday morning. I. Forgot. To. Download. House. I still can’t believe it. During all my different fascinations House was always a constant and now it’s Friday and I haven’t even watch this week’s ep yet. It’s not that I don’t want to. I do, but I can’t tear myself away from Tim and Frank. And the rest of them, but mostly Tim and Frank.

I’m almost done with the 5th season and even though there is a decline in quality comparing to the first 3 seasons it’s still a damn good show.

06:20 pm - Soap operas
Hollyoaks

So, I thought I was done with Hollyoaks. Without John Paul there was nothing for me to watch on this show. But now they have another gay subplot with Kris and Ravi. I know and love Kris, a bisexual cross-dressing catholic boy from Dublin, as Kieron called him once, because he was an important secondary character in John Paul/Kieron drama. Ravi is a new boy and I don’t know much about him. Only that he’s bisexual, that earlier in the show he made a pass at Russ (ex-husband of Mercedes, one of John Paul’s sisters) and that now he has this on again off again relationship with Nancy.

For now there were only 3 parts ( one, two, three ) and one hot kiss ( this vid shows only the kiss in you don’t want to bother with watching the whole story). It’s an interesting idea – the triangle with two bisexual boys and a girl, but the execution is so, so. The problem is that while Gerard McCarthy (Kris) is a great actor, Stephen Uppal (Ravi) is pretty but act he can’t. At all. But there are rumors (don’t know if they’re true) that eventually Kris, Ravi and Nancy end up in bed together so for now I’ll be watching.

Verbotene Liebe

Olli is back! Olli is back! After two months he’s finally back and Christian and Olli are together again. *doing a happy dance* And what a return is it. With three hot kisses and looking at each other with so much love and longing and desire and happiness, that I’m melting in front of my computer. The whole vid with English subtitles if here .

Have you seen this?

“Prop 8 – The Musical”

It’s a short (3 minutes) and very funny mini-musical with a great cast: Neil Patrick Harris, John C. Reilly, Jack Black, Kathy Najimy and many more.

08:43 pm - "Milk"
Photobucket

“If a bullet should enter my brain, let that bullet destroy every closet door.”

I want to see “Milk” now. Not in December. Right now. The trailer looks amazing. I'm sure Sean Penn will be great, he even looks like Harvey. Don’t ask me how many times I’ve seen this 2 minutes and 29 seconds. I’ve lost count somewhere after the first 10 times. To make the waiting easier I’m re-reading Randy Shilts’ “The Mayor of Castro Street” (wonderful book, I strongly recommend it) and watching Robert Epstein’s documentary “The Times of Harvey Milk”, which luckily is available on YouTube. Here is the link to the 1st part if someone would like to see it.
