|07:49 pm - My new fascination|
RL is pretty meh lately, nothing specific, just general “work exhaustion + missing my family + it’s so cold and getting dark so early” feelings. But there are a few things that brighten my November evenings. Well, mainly one thing: Hamilton – Lin-Manuel Miranda’s new musical about Alexander Hamilton, one of America’s founding fathers. I’ve been listening to nothing else these past four weeks. You can listen to it for free here.
And here are few other Hamilton links:
Lin-Manuel Miranda singing the opening song from the musical at the White House in 2009
Jonathan Groff, Andrew Rannells and Brian D’Arcy James singing The Schuyler Sisters on Ham4Ham (sort of mini pre-show outside the theater before each showing)
Lin-Manuel Miranda’s tumblr
A Hamilton’s beginner guide (a funny article on hypable)
Ham4Ham with Lea Salonga
Ham4Ham with The Hamilton Children
The article about Hamilton (and George Takei’s new musical Allegiance) on AV Club
Hamilton on CBS’s 60 minutes
The making of the Hamilton cast album
Lin-Manuel Miranda on The Tonight Show
Current Mood: enthralled
A friend of mine is very much into Hamilton and I'm trying to find the time to sit and listen to it. Thank you for all these links, these will be a lot of fun to go through!

I hope you'll like it. :) The biggest disappointment for me right now is that I can't see it on stage with the present cast. I'm sure it will be shown in London some day, not earlier than 2017, but still, and I probably will be able to see it then. It just won't be with the same actors. Lin-Manuel Miranda mentioned vaguely that maybe there is a possibility of the show being filmed, but nothing sure unfortunately.
The aforementioned friend basically set up Spotify, sat me down and got me to listen to it. It was really good! I can see why it's been such a huge success.
(I know this is an old post, just checking in and saying hi :)
Hey, honey, so nice to hear from you. I had a few health problems in the beginning of the year, that’s why I haven’t been posting here lately. Haven’t been involved in other online fannish things much either. But my health is better now, so I’m thinking about getting back into posting and discussing and all that jazz. :)
I hope everything’s fine with you. And I’m glad you liked Hamilton. I’m still completely enthralled and listening to the soundtrack constantly.
