Every time I think that Christian and Olli can’t be more adorable and every time they prove me wrong.

If you would like to check it for yourself the big coming out vid is here (Christian wins his important boxing fight and kisses Olli in the ring in front of all the people). And the post coming out "we are so blindingly happy as only we can be in a soap before the tragedy strikes" vid is here (more public kissing and Christian calling Olli his greatest love and thanking him for all the support and oh my god they are so happy I just can’t take it *melts*). Both vids have English subtitles.

At times like this I wish VL was a bigger fandom, because then by the end of the week there would be at least ten fics describing in details what Christian and Olli would do in that bath tub if stupid Axel didn’t spoil everything.

I can’t believe I’m so ridiculously excited about a German soap opera. Well, about a British one, too, because a few weeks ago I started watching and quickly fell in love with a gay subplot on Hollyoaks. I haven’t had time to write about it yet, so for now only czeri has to bear me rambling about it.

As for Verbotene Liebe – yesterday’s episode was wonderful and the preview for today’s episode was the best thing ever. Because today is Christian’s big public coming out. I have no idea how I’ll manage to wait till the evening. I watched the last episode twice yesterday. In German without English subtitles. I didn’t understand a word but it really didn’t matter. And when the preview came I clapped my hands and shouted and awwwed and made other strange noises of excitement. And now I’m posting about it at 8.20 a.m. before going to work. I’m crazy in love and it feels great! :)

The ep with English subtitles is here. And if you’re not watching Verbotene Liebe why aren't you? It’s such fun.

This is Christian Mann.

This is Oliver Sabel also known as Olli.

And this is Christian/Olli – my current obsession and one of the most beautiful romances I’ve seen on TV.

They’re canon, they’re pretty and they kiss a lot on screen sometimes even lying half-naked in bed. And all this happens in German soap opera Verbotene Liebe (Forbidden Love). If you want to see this lovely and hot boy/boy kissing in motion first I recommend checking two vids.

This is their first sex scene. There are English subtitles (very good subtitles, the girl doing them is German but she’s a professional translator), although during the scene itself they aren’t really needed. :) Just one more thing – this is a soap opera that airs in Germany from Monday to Friday at 6 p.m. Not 9 or 10 – 6 p.m. To see something like that on Polish TV at 6 p.m. I will have to wait, oh I don’t know, another 50 years perhaps?

Later there is a lot of denial on Christian’s side and a lot of patience on Olli’s side and then finally comes the second sex scene.

After that they’re officially a couple, although they are out only to a few people at first. If you want to see how it all started, how they fell in love and to see a lot more of those hot, beautiful kisses this is a playlist of all Christian/Olli youtube vids with English subtitles. There are 71 of them now – just Christian and Olli scenes, each one is from 5 to 10 minutes long.

Why do I love them so much? The actors have an incredible chemistry, you can really believe that they are in love, that they want each other. Also they have really healthy relationship. I’m not saying they are happy all the time and it's all sunshine and rainbows. Sometimes they argue or they fight or misunderstand one another but they’re honest with each other and they talk to explain things and then they make up and are so adorable that I melt and awwww a lot. Of course it’s a soap so it’s often cheesy and has silly plot twists and some of the actors are bad but Christian/Olli subplot is very well done IMO and feels realistic.

Short summary of Christian/Olli relationship behind the cut for those of you who would like to know more.

It all starts when Olli moves in with Christian and his girlfriend Coco. Olli is gay, Christian until now appeared to be completely straight – he only had girlfriends, never show any interest in another guy. Christian starts to like Olli and it seems like the beginning of a beautiful friendship. Then he finds out that Olli’s gay by seeing him making out on the couch with a cute guy and freaks out, even though everybody around him is like “so he’s gay, so what, what’s your problem”. Olli falls in love with Christian and is very unhappy because he thinks Christian is unattainable. After a while things smooth out between them. But then Christian accuses Olli of trying to steal his girlfriend (Olli and Coco kissed when she was down because she and Christian had relationship troubles) and Olli kisses Christian to prove that he isn’t interested in Coco at all. Christian predictably freaks out, but he can’t stop thinking about the kiss and even dreams about kissing Olli back. Then he breaks up with Coco and after a clichéd plot twist about gay chatroom (they talk about their feelings under pseudonyms and don’t realize they talk with each other) they finally have sex. After that Christian is all denial, denial, denial, it was an experiment and he’s not into guys. But he goes into jealous rage when he sees Olli dancing in the club with another guy. They make up, confess their love and have sex again. After that, like I’ve said above, they are a couple and kiss a lot and have a lot of adorable couply scenes.

If you want to read more about Christian pre-Olli and Olli pre-Christian these are their Wiki entries:

Christian

Olli

Now go watch, I hope I convinced you that it’s worth checking. :)

Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor as lovers – do you need any other reason to watch that movie? :) For me it would be enough, but I also read the book and I liked it very much so I’m really excited about seeing it on screen. Carrey proved in “The Truman Show” that he can act, so I’m not worried about his ability to play such a fascinating character as Russell. Also they look so adorable together:

The book is based on a true story of Steven Russell – a con man, a very intelligent, quick-witted and charming guy. He’s now serving 45 years plus 99 years in a maximum-security jail. But earlier he escaped from prison several times, always on Friday the 13th. Those escapes earned him such a reputation in law enforcement and the media that he became known as the King of Con. The first time he managed to get hold of civilian clothes and a walkie-talkie and he simply walked out of the front door from the visitors side of the jail, waving a walkie-talkie to the guards to open the door for him. And they did. They didn’t recognize him, because it was a big prison with almost 5000 inmates and he had been an inmate for only a month. His next escapes were even more brilliant. During one of his stays in prison he met Phillip Morris and fell in love with him.

The movie was apparently pitched as “Catch Me if You Can meets Brokeback Mountain” *rolls eyes*, but the book reminded me a little bit of OZ, partially because this description of Phillip Morris:

"He was short and delicate; a boy-man with porcelain skin, wire-rimmed glasses, and baby-fine blond hair,"

reminded me of Beecher. And because Russell wasn’t just in love with Morris, he was obsessed with him. Since Russell met and fell in love with Morris, Morris was his reason for living, Russell would do anything for him. Once when they were both still in jail Morris complained to Russell about a fellow inmate who screamed incessantly and that screaming kept Morris from sleeping. The next day Russell paid someone to beat that inmate up. Very Keller-like, isn’t it?

The movie will premiere in early 2009. I can’t wait.

Thank you, show. I admit that I expected something more or less like the Tosh/Adam scene from ep 5, only more naked, but it was still very, very good. And also cute and funny and hot. But I also admit that even more than The Scene itself I liked the moment right after outside the greenhouse with Jack being so damn hot with his shirt undone and his trousers still opened, belt hanging loosely. First proposing a threesome to Gwen (and I’ve seen many people writing that it was mean and cruel to Ianto, I saw it as typical Jack being a tease and a flirt, nothing mean about it, and Ianto so didn’t mind), and then the sudden change of tone and this short and chilly “no” with shirt still unbuttoned and eyes cold, so dominant and sexy and beautiful…..*fans herself* If not for Rhys I would be all for canon Jack/Ianto/Gwen.

And Ianto, pretty, brilliant Ianto, helping Gwen and being sneaky and having passionate sex with Jack in the greenhouse. So passionate that they didn’t even hear the gate to the HUB open with all that noise and lights flashing. :)

The episode overall was quite good and interesting, but that’s just an additional bonus. I really don’t watch Torchwood for the plot. And I can’t wait for the next ep (tomorrow, wheeee!!!!), because of that little scene in the promos.

Episode 8 is downloading, but I’m almost afraid to watch it, because Omar is killed in it. Yes, Omar Little is dead. I read vague spoilers a few weeks ago that he dies in ep 8, and I hoped so much that it wouldn’t be true, although I suspected that it was. After all why would they send only 7 episodes to the journalists before the premiere on HBO, and not the whole season like they did with season 4.

But now I know for sure and damn, I don’t want to. Damn, damn, damn! I feel like crying now, how the hell I’ll survive actually watching it. :(

“Adam” was so, so, but I still would love to read Adam/Ianto fanfic in the universe when Adam was a little bit smarter and wiped out CCTV footage or convince Tosh to do it somehow. And something or someone stopped Jack from going back to the Hub and finding Ianto in time. And Ianto convinced he’s a serial killer and that killing girls makes him feel good instead of wanting to be locked up went out and really kill a girl. And then called Adam to help him dump the body. After Adam drove Ianto home and they had hot, messy sex. Of course, it has to end badly for all of them. I love dark canon AUs, like Wishverse in Buffy or Five Years Gone verse in Heroes.

I liked “Reset” more, maybe because of Martha, who was awesome. And maybe because John Barrowman was so over the top in all those highly emotional moments in “Adam” when he remembered his childhood. I felt like telling him that sometimes less is more. He can be good in such scenes when he has a well written script and a good director to guide him, which he proved in “Captain Jack Harkness”. I don’t know, maybe it was because of the director of “Adam” or because this Cath Tregenna’s script was definitely weaker than “Captain Jack Harkness”.

On a shipping front I so wouldn’t mind Martha/anybody from Torchwood fanfic, but especially Martha/Tosh, Martha/Ianto and Martha/Ianto/Jack. BTW I would love to have explained if the rest of Torchwood gang knows about Jack/Ianto “dabbling” or not. From Tosh’s sentence in Meat about all of them being single it seemed they don’t know. But Jack and Ianto doesn’t seem to hide their relationship, so I don’t really know how it is and it drives me crazy. :) Anyway the conversation between Martha and Ianto was wonderful.

Martha: So Jack asked me if I could get you a Unit cap to wear.
Ianto: Did he? Well, red is my color.
Martha: So am I right in thinking that you and he…
Ianto: We… dabble.
Marta: Yeah?
Ianto: Yeah.
Martha: So what’s his dabbling like?
Ianto: Innovative.
Martha: Really?
Ianto: Bordering on the avant garde.
Martha: Wow.
Ianto: Oh yeah… (stares dreamily into the distance).

Also I would really really love to have gay sex scene done the same way as Tosh/Adam scene. I love Torchwood to pieces, but I was disappointed last year, because when it comes to sex scenes they were like every other show out there. We had passionate, naked and rolling on the bed het Owen/Diane. With girls we had the kiss before and then cut to after-sex scene with Tosh and Mary decently covered. And with guys we had only innuendo and kisses. So, show, I hope, based on the spoilers for Jack/Ianto in episode 11, that you won’t let me down this year and we will have a proper gay, at least half-naked, rolling on the bed scene. Thanks in advance.

Owen’s fate

Even if I haven’t read spoilers I still wouldn’t believe that he is really dead. And I think it would be shocking and wonderful if TPTB decided to kill him for real. Not because I hate Owen, on the contrary I like him very much and I’d love to have him in the next eps, but because it take guts to kill one of the main characters so unexpectedly. Well, ok, it’s a British TV show so, if I haven’t read spoilers, maybe I would be a little bit afraid, but still it’s a British sci-fi show that showed us plenty of times that they have ways to bring someone back from the dead.

My three favorite scenes from Torchwood 2x03 „To the Last Man” in pics.

One from the beginning of the ep

Ianto/Gwen

Gwen: He’s a bit all right.
Ianto: He’s the boss.
Gwen: Nothing changes.

I love how they smile at each other. I really like Ianto/Gwen relationship in season 2. In the 2nd ep there was this cute little scene when Ianto offers his arm to Gwen for support and she takes it and here we have this shared Jack-is–hot smile. It’s like they know they’re both in love with Jack and they accept it and aren’t jealous of each other.

One from the end of the ep

Tosh/Tommy

Tommy: I’m scared
Tosh: It’s all right.
Tommy: That’s why I’m here, I’m a coward.
Tosh: No, you are not.
Tommy: What am I fighting for?
Tosh: For the future. For me. Because you’re my brave, handsome hero.

I got choked up here. Seriously. Poor Tosh.

I saved the best for last. Because for me, a die-hard Jack/Ianto shipper since the ep 1 of season 1, the best was of course the long, passionate, hot kiss preceded by Ianto looking at Jack with such longing and love and need. And it makes me melt and my brain simply stops functioning every time I watch it, because it’s just that hot and it’s my slash ship being all canon with kissing and tongues and hands grabbing necks and I thought I’d never get that from a TV show, but here it is in brain-melting details.

Jack: This time tomorrow he’ll be back in 1918.
Ianto: His own time. (pause) Would you go back to yours? If you could?
Jack: Why? Would you miss me?
Ianto: Yep.
Jack: I left home a long time ago. Don’t really know where I really belong. Maybe that doesn’t matter anymore.

Ianto slowly sits on the edge of Jack’s desk.

Ianto: I… know you get lonely.
Jack: Going home wouldn’t fix that. Being here, I've seen things I never dreamt I'd see. Loved people I never would have known if I had just stayed where I was.

They look at each other for a few seconds.

Jack: And I wouldn't change that for the world.

And then they kiss.

Isn't it beautiful? *happy sigh*

WARNING - behind the cuts are heavy spoilers for The Wire season 5 up to ep 4, Prison Break season 3 up to ep 10 and Torchwood season 2 up to ep 2.

The Wire – I know that show is good, but every time I start watching a new season I’m surprised anew how good. I’ve just finished watching the 4th episode and damn, it was a shock to see Marlo killing Proposition Joe. And I thought that if anyone would be still standing by the end of the season it would be Prop Joe. Damn. I love when a show surprises me like that. But The Wire also breaks my heart over and over and over again – Michael and Dukie’s situation, Beadie (damn you, Jimmy, why are you doing it to her), Butchie’s death. I predict major crying by the end of the season.

I had moments of pure joy also – Aidan Gillen! Avon! Norman! Lester! OMAR!!!! As for the new characters I like Gus and Alma very much but I know this show and I know it won’t end well for one or both of them. I’m especially worried about Gus, because he’s such a good guy and I’m dreading the moment when David Simon does something terrible to him.

Prison Break – it’s boring, I only watch Mahone and T-bag’s scenes, and besides that Lincoln and Sofia when they are together on screen. I like them as a couple, I really awwwwed during episode 10 when he gave her a key-chain with a little Eiffel Tower and said “If he doesn’t take you to Paris I will.” Awwwww….

Torchwood – it’s like a fanfic come to life and I love it. I don’t expect much from it, though. I knew the 2nd ep would be much worse than the 1st and it was.

Gwen – I don’t care much for her, sometimes I like her, sometimes I found her annoying, but it is a bit irritating when they emphasize all the time how good and compassionate and caring she is. Oh look how much Jack needs her and loves her and respects her, she’s the heart of the team, blah, blah, blah…. And yes, she cares for strangers, it’s true, but when it comes to people close to her she’s selfish and thinks mostly about herself and what she wants. In the 1st season she wanted to have Owen and Rhys, and it seems now she wants to have Jack and Rhys. I really disliked her in the 1st ep when she answers Jack’s question about Rhys’s marriage proposal “And you said yes?” with “Well, no one else would have me.” It didn’t sound like a joke to me, it sounded as if Gwen was serious, as if in a way she believed it. And Rhys deserves better.

Ianto – I like him as a half of the paring with Jack. I think he could be a very interesting character, but he’s so inconsistently written. Last season he was an emo boy with “rats in his stomach”, this season he’s a joker. No middle ground at all, from one extremity to another. But Jack/Ianto is still my Torchwood OTP and I loved the “asking Ianto out on a date” scene. So cute. I hope we’ll see that date on the screen.

Owen – In real life I would completely loathe him, but as a fictional character I find him quite interesting. It doesn’t hurt that Burn Gorman is the best actor of them all. But I wish they stop doing that thing when every woman he meets finds him incredibly hot. He’s not that sexy, although I admit sometimes I find him strangely attractive.

Tosh – I like her very much, but again, as with Ianto, she’s underdeveloped. I hope it will change this season. I’d love to see more of her.

I will also be watching new episodes of Chuck and House and I want to check The Sarah Connor Chronicles because I love Summer Glau. And the 1st season of Brothers & Sisters, because they started showing it on Polish TV. And Mad Men.

I wanted to write a long and meaningful post about my trip to London and seeing Aidan Gillen on stage in „Glengarry Glen Rose” and talking to him after the play. Ok, so it probably wouldn’t be long and meaningful, just long and full of squee, but I can’t think about anything else but Torchwood today. Why, oh why didn’t I stay in England till Thursday? Then I could watch Jack/John hot kiss with czeri on TV at 9 p.m. instead of waiting for a torrent to appear on the net. And I don’t have much faith in Chris Chibnall, who wrote that 1st ep, but what do I care about the bad script when I have John Barrowman kissing James Marsters on my screen. :)

I don’t like House anymore. :( House the show, not House the character. Although with the horrible writing this season only Hugh Laurie’s incredible talent keeps me from disliking Greg House completely. Apart from the first one I didn’t like any episode this season. I don’t want to not like House. I want to love it like I did during the 1st and 2nd season and the beginning of the 3rd.

I realized that I loved the first epi so much because it was all about only House, Wilson and Cuddy. There were no new ducklings yet. And the House/Wilson and House/Cuddy interactions were so awesome and there were so many of them that I didn’t even miss the old ducklings. I can’t remember who the POTW was and what was their problem, I can’t even remember if it was a man or a woman, but I remember differential diagnosis with the janitor, doctor Buffer and Wilson – kidnapper of the guitar.

And it seems quite a lot of people like this season, like the new ducklings, or at lest one of them, and I envy those people so much. Because I want to like it, I want to care and I can’t. New ducklings bore me to death and the only one I liked a little bit (Amber aka Cutthroat Bitch) just got fired. Do you know that watching them made me start to miss Cameron a little? Because if we have to have a Cameron I’d prefer to have the original than Thirteen’s Cameron version 2.0.

*sigh* I think I need to find myself a new show to fall in love with.

"Prison Break" season 3

Finally, new seasons start. Not that re-watching Blakes 7 is boring. Far from it, but I wanted something new to watch. Prison Break is my guilty pleasure. I think this show is stupid and requires suspension of disbelief I am not capable of. Also Wentworth Miller, albeit a very pretty boy, is not a good actor. I watched the 1st season only for T-Bag. Literally, I watched only his scenes and fast-forwarded through the rest. I started watching season 2 for T-Bag, too, but very quickly fell in love with Special Agent Alexander Mahone. He has everything I need in the character to get obsessed with. He’s very intelligent, complicated, morally ambiguous, over 30, handsome, sexy and has incredible UST with the major good guy. And he’s played by and amazing and wonderful actor. This guy:

William Fichtner looks so good in this episode, all angsty and tormented in black T-shirt and with mussed up hair. And oh my God Michael/ Mahone – my die-hard PB OTP since the first episode of the 2nd season and the cemetery scene. And now it’s even better, because the 3rd season’s set up strokes all my kinks so hard.

I love enemy pairings especially when said enemies are forced to cooperate in extreme circumstances. Just like Michael and Mahone are in Sona. My favorite two scenes from that episode are, unsurprisingly, two Michael/ Mahone scenes: the first one in the beginning when Mahone tries to convince Michael that they have to work together to survive and Michael looks at him with that cute frown on his forehead and says “And yet all I can see when I look at you is the man who killed my father.” Yes, I shouted “X Files!” very loudly then, because it’s so very Mulder/Krycek. :)

And the second scene is the one in the end starting with Mahone giving Michael advice how to fight dirty and ending with Mahone saving Michael’s life and breaking his opponent’s neck. Since yesterday I watched that last scene 5 times already. William Fichtner is simply incredible.

The rest of the episode was so, so. I’m not really interested in Lincoln, Bellick or this new guy Lechero. I still love Robert Knepper as T-Bag and look forward to his scenes with Mahone. They have to have some scenes together since they’re in the same prison and with these two excellent actors it’s bound to be great. I hope that T-Bag will start being an interesting character again, because it was clear in the season 2 that the writers didn’t really know what to do with him once he was out of Fox River.

And the next week a new House. Yay!

Last Sunday I was talking to czeri and telling her about my current infatuation with Alan Rickman (his pic as my computer wallpaper, seeing “Order of the Phoenix” 5 times, renting “Snow Cake” and melting in from of my TV every time he said something because damn, listening to that voice does strange things to my insides). I also mentioned to her that I started watching Blakes 7 and that I really did like this guy Avon. I think I was in the middle of the 2nd episode then. Little did I know that by the end of that day, after watching 2 more episodes, Alan Rickman would be pushed to the 2nd place on the list of my current obsessions and that the 1st place would be occupied completely by Paul Darrow.

Avon is ... fantastic. I fell in love from the first look of contempt in his eyes, from the first sarcastic comment (Blake asking Avon why he got caught, Avon replying “I relied on other people”). He’s mysterious, morally ambiguous, very intelligent, cool, calm, collected, handsome and hot – how could I not fall in love. And his relationship with Blake is pure delight for my slasher’s heart.

I really like Blake, too and at first I thought I wouldn’t. He’s a hero, a good guy, doing the right thing, fighting the evil Federation that’s killing and oppressing innocent people. But he’s got enough of darkness and fanaticism in him to make him interesting. And to make him a perfect match for Avon. With any other person I would question why a guy like Avon submits to a self-appointed leader. With Blake I still wonder about Avon’s motives, but I don’t find it unbelievable.

Of course special effects make me giggle and no wonder since the show was made in 1978. But for me that’s just an additional pleasure during the watching.

I’m almost done with the 1st series, 3 episodes left to watch. I know a little about what will happen in the end of the show and what will happen with Blake, but just a little bit, so don’t spoil me, please.

First impressions written an hour after finishing the book. I have to warn you that, since I’m a Snape girl, it’s all about Snape.

I was bored. All the time. The only two times I had a reaction was:

1. Snape’s death - and that reaction was: that’s it? That’s it?! THAT’S IT?! I wanted the moment of triumph for him. For Voldemort to know that Snape was fooling him all those years, and then to kill him in an act of fury that someone managed to deceive him so masterfully. Or something like that.

2. The Prince’s Tale – so he did what he did out of love. So disappointing. After the former books I had this notion of Snape’s internal battle that caused him to leave Voldemort and go to Dumbledore and here I find out that the only reason he did that was not because he thought killing and torturing Muggles and Muggle born was bad but because Voldemort wanted to kill the woman he loved. It’s just too simple for me. I wanted him to be conflicted and still choose the right side. Because it was the right side and not because he was so much in love. Essentially he sacrificed everything for love and usually I’m all for that. But here having that for Snape’s motivation … I don’t know, it feels cheap. And maybe I shouldn’t expect heavy moral dilemmas from the book for children, but I did and I’m disappointed. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind that he was so in love with Lily, I mind that it’s presented as his sole reason for betraying Voldemort.

About other not-Snape things:

The epilogue – so nauseatingly sweet and so unnecessary. I would prefer the book to end with Harry’s “I’ve had enough trouble for a lifetime.” Well, of course if I’d be 12 years old instead of 36 I’d probably love this ending – they married, they have a lot of kids and they lived happily ever after.

Dumbledore/Gindelwald slash – oh yeah, it’s so canon. And I’ve already seen 4 communities for that pairing. Fandom is quick, isn’t it? :)

The next generation – I’m willing to forgive JK for the epilogue because it gave us so many possibilities for slash in the next generation of Potters, Weasleys and Lupins. I see that for now the most popular pairing is Albus Severus/ Scorpius followed closely by Teddy Lupin/James Potter Jr. I’ve even read already one good Teddy/James fic - “The Rules Of Being A Godson” by copperbadge.
